Is There Anything Good About Online Dating?

People love to complain about the potential pitfalls of online dating, but I happen to love it. Here are a few reasons why I’m a believer:

My friend Tami and I met 10 years ago and while it’s wasn’t a love connection, she remains one of my dearest friends. In fact, we speak almost daily and our connection remains as strong as ever.
Believe it or not, I’m a hermit much of the time. Most evenings I am parked in front of my computer, however online dating sites allow me access to a variety of people I’d never meet in real life. These days people have such crazy time schedules and the traditional meetup times don’t always work. Online dating sites allow you to socialize on your own time table.
I’m not the kind of guy who can easily starts a conversation with a total stranger just because I am physically attracted to her. Usually, I feel uncomfortable invading someone else’s space unless they invited me. Therefore, online dating is great for people like me who want to meet for a potential connection or relationship. unlike the coffee shop or walking the beach.

And now the last word — my biggest testimonial for online dating is that I met the most amazing woman almost 5 years ago. We spent 3 1/2 years in what is probably the healthiest relationship I’ve ever had. While our romantic relationship had to move on at that time, we remain dear friends. It would never have happened if it wasn’t for a “wink” online.

As much as I occasionally moan and groan about the online dating process, the best things in my life have happened because of the world of online dating.

Additionally, the need for midlife singles to learn to navigate the world of online dating inspired me to create a living helping others because of my experience when it comes to dating, mating & relating. Online dating is just one spoke in that wheel and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
